The birthplace of racket and ball sports, Occitanie is a flourishing pool of alternative sports practices. The economic supply of sports business is varied, from a Mediterranean façade with sailing, boating and winter sports to a Pyrenean border with outdoor and mountain sports. The great-west remains the historical territory of rugby. The range of sports open to leisure, tourism and health also has an international dimension with the hosting of the Rugby World Cup in 2023 and the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
