SEMESTER 1: EUROPEAN
COURSE PROGRAMME

Sport is a fast-growing and dynamic industry in Europe with a unique system of governance that has given rise to a special economic development model that has been exported worldwide.

The first semester of the Global Sport Business Master’s program will focus on the economic, political, and legal characteristics of sports management and introduce the future trends of the sports industry in Europe.

To be fully immersed in the sports products' environment, students will join a 5-day study trip to Munich - Germany - to attend ISPO, the world’s largest multi-segment trade fair for sports business.

Students will not only discover a business platform and a trend barometer for the industry, but they will also learn about the new developments and innovations shaping the sports marketplace (winter sports, indoor & outdoor sports, health & fitness, and sportswear) as well as discover the city of Munich and its numerous facets through sports venue visits (FC Bayern Munich, Olympic Park 1972…), conferences and cultural visits.

Following their study trip, the students will participate in a consulting project proposed by OSV -Outdoor Sports Valley. The goal of this project is for students to understand the impact of digitalization on the future of professional trade shows, and the evolution of digital B-to-B platforms. Students will then be capable to propose recommendations and adapting offers to the growing needs of the sports industry.

The second semester of the Global Sport Business Master’s program focuses on the opportunities for collaboration in Asia and the challenges that such a gigantic market represents to European and American sports organizations. Students will also understand the economic implications when developing successful business strategies in Asia.

They will also discover the functioning of sports digital marketing and fan engagement. By the end of the semester, students will be able to propose a real individualized customer experience.

To fully immerse students in Asia’s powerful market and apply their digital transformation knowledge to the area, a 4-week study trip is organized, either in Shanghai and Beijing in China or Seoul in South Korea*

Both markets are important actors in the sports industry, with their implications in major international sports events or their innovation in the industry. Students will study in some of the best sport universities in the country and will be able to picture the transformations taking place in one of the two countries in the sports industry.
